You’re already carrying a lot. Between your own career, your family and everything else on your plate, trying to coordinate care for an ageing parent can feel like taking on a second full-time job.
We have four ways to get your parent the expert support they need, delivered to their door, without the wait.
$1,050 (including GST)
A 1.5 hour home visit from one of our experienced OTs, travelling to you within a 30-minute radius of Brisbane. A detailed report with clear recommendations will be emailed to you within days of your visit.
Families who know there are challenges at home but aren't sure where to start. Our occupational therapists bring extensive aged care experience to every assessment. Whether your parent is struggling with managing meals, getting off the toilet or lounge, the stairs, getting in and out of the shower, or keeping up with day-to-day tasks around the home, we'll assess what's getting in the way and give you a clear path forward.
You can act on the recommendations yourselves or let us take care of it for you. Our support ranges from sourcing equipment and arranging modifications to connecting you with other trusted professionals in our network, including financial planners, wills and estates planners, aged care or retirement navigators, and downsizing services.
We will always help with referring people for government assistance as part of this process. We offer timely support within days, not weeks.
Everything in the Express Initial Assessment Package, PLUS a second layer of expert review. This extra set of experienced eyes on your situation means better recommendations and greater peace of mind. We then come back to your home with a printed copy of the report and morning tea, and sit down with you to walk through every recommendation and next step, one by one.
From there, you can choose to go it alone with your report in hand or engage us to move forward with an agreed body of work, quoted separately once we know the full scope.
Assessments and Reports:
Privately referred, flexible occupational therapy delivered on a case-by-case basis. Whether you need a one-off independent assessment, a detailed report, or an ongoing program of therapy and rehabilitation, we tailor our approach to your specific situation and timeline.
Adults who need occupational therapy support but fall between the cracks of government funded systems, need an independent assessment for personal or legal purposes, or simply want timely, expert support without the wait. This service is also well suited to those who don't meet criteria for insurance or government schemes but still need professional OT care.
Once your assessment or report is complete, you'll have a clear picture of next steps. From there, you can choose to engage us for ongoing therapy or rehabilitation, quoted either per hour or as a block of sessions, depending on what suits your needs and goals.
$117.32/hr for all services including travel to you | Mileage: $1/km from Coorparoo, Brisbane (return)
Hands-on, practical support from a trained therapy assistant, working under the supervision of your OT and always focused on building your capacity rather than stepping in to do things for you. Our TAs will make phone calls, chase quotes, keep you updated, work alongside you on tasks, and coach independence.
Those who have completed an initial assessment with an OT and are ready to put the recommendations into practice. This might look like support with batch meal prepping, online grocery shopping, setting up a calendar with reminders, or practising the skills you've been working on with your OT.
Therapy assistant support is recommended as part of many of our assessment reports and works best as an ongoing complement to your OT's program. Because our TAs operate under OT supervision, an OT must always be involved, and together, they're a powerful team.
This is one of the most common situations we see.
Often, older people have gradually adapted to changes over time and don’t realise how much harder everyday tasks have become. Our role isn’t to tell someone what they can or can’t do – it’s to understand what’s important to them and find practical ways to help them continue doing it safely.
We take the time to build trust, involve your parent in every decision, and focus on maintaining independence and dignity.
As this is a private service, equipment, home modifications, and trades are generally paid for by the client.
Our role is to help you choose the right solution, not the most expensive one.
Sometimes a simple change makes the biggest difference.
If funding opportunities are available, we’ll let you know.
Depending on eligibility, some equipment may be available through government programs such as the Medical Aids Subsidy Scheme (MASS) or through future support at home funding (if you are looking to access this).
Absolutely.
Many families engage us because they need support now, but still want to access government funding in the future.
We can:
Our goal is to help you make informed decisions while avoiding unnecessary delays.
No. We are separate, stand-alone and completely privately funded.
Many of our clients contact us while they are waiting for an assessment or funding.
Rather than putting life on hold, we help families address immediate priorities and create a plan for the future.
If funding becomes available later, you can transition to government-funded support at home providers to continue your journey.
We spend time getting to know the whole person, not just their medical condition.
We look at:
From there, we develop practical recommendations that support both immediate needs and future planning.
Not at all.
While safety is important, we also look at the bigger picture.
Many families appreciate having someone help them think through the next stage of life, including:
We believe planning ahead gives families confidence and reduces stress when unexpected changes occur.
Yes.
Over many years we’ve built relationships with professionals we know and trust.
If you need additional support, we can connect you with people including:
These are professionals we’d confidently recommend to our own families.
Yes.
Whether someone has mild memory changes or a diagnosis such as dementia, our focus is on helping them remain as safe, engaged, and independent as possible.
We work closely with families to develop practical strategies that support both the individual and the people caring for them.
You’re not alone.
These conversations can be emotional and sometimes difficult.
Part of our role is helping families understand the situation, explore the available options and work towards decisions that reflect the person’s wishes, values and goals.
We don’t just complete assessments.
As occupational therapists focused on aged care and in-home support, we help families navigate one of life’s biggest transitions.
Our role is to bridge the gap between recognising a problem and knowing what to do next.
Whether that’s organising equipment, planning for the future, or simply giving you confidence that you’re making the right decisions, we’re here to walk alongside you.
