You’ve earnt this chapter. You shouldn’t have to spend a year of it waiting for someone to assess your bathroom.
At Bridge to Best, we provide private, fee-for-service occupational therapy for Brisbane retirees who want to keep living at home — even when it’s getting a bit harder. No 12-month government queues. No red tape. No being limited by what a funding package will or won’t allow. Most clients are seen within one to two weeks.
We Look at the Whole Picture
An OT doesn’t just look at one problem or one piece of equipment. We look at three things together:
You. Your health, your routines, and what you actually want retirement to look like.
Your occupations. The daily activities that matter most — cooking, gardening, showering without worrying, getting to the shops.
Your environment. Every space in the home. Kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, living areas and garden.
Then we adjust the fit. Sometimes that means equipment. Sometimes it’s a different strategy. Often it’s a small change that makes a surprisingly big difference. The outcome we’re after is simple: less risk, more independence, quickly.
No, It Won’t Look Like a Hospital
This is one of the first things people ask us, and it’s a fair question. The answer is no. We prioritise solutions that blend into your home and reflect your style. There are plenty of high-quality options that don’t scream “aged care.”
We’re also independent — we don’t sell products. We recommend what genuinely works, so you buy once and buy right.
What You’ll Walk Away With
After a first visit, you’ll have a plain-English summary of what’s getting in the way, a prioritised action plan, safety tips and training, and optional coordination if you’d like us to order, set up and follow up.
You’ll know exactly what to do now, what can wait, and what to plan for later.
Your needs will change over time. There’ll be seasons when you need us and seasons when you don’t — that’s exactly how it should be.
