Bridge to Best was built on the simple idea that getting older, recovering from injury, or navigating a health crisis can go hand-in-hand with choice, control, and dignity. We believe that people deserve better than a waitlist, red tape, and a confusing system. So, we decided to do things differently.
We come to you, whether it’s in the comfort of your home, the familiarity of your workplace, or within your community. As a premium service, we communicate clearly, move quickly, think outside the box, and never settle for good enough. When we don’t have the answer ourselves, we have a trusted network of colleagues who do. We’ll show up at your kitchen table with a plan, stay with you until it’s done, and bring the morning tea while we’re at it!
It’s clear to our clients that we genuinely love what we do. Our team brings together a diverse range of skills and we carefully match the right people to each client’s unique needs. Often that means more than one of us around your table, because we’ve found that the best solutions come from working together.
Danielle is the Founder and Director of Bridge to Best, a values-driven allied health practice she established in 2018 with one simple belief:
Founder and Director
Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, University of Qld, 2005
With more than 20 years of experience as an occupational therapist, Danielle has spent her career helping people navigate life’s changes with confidence. From supporting people rebuilding their lives after brain injury and neurological illness to helping retirees remain safe and thriving in their own homes, her passion has always been the same: to find practical solutions that restore possibility and enable meaningful participation in everyday life.
After seeing firsthand the increasing delays, complexity, and red tape within funded systems – and through her own family’s experience navigating ageing – she recognised a growing gap for people who simply couldn’t wait for support. That experience inspired the development of Bridge to Best’s private retirement services, alongside the team’s long-established expertise in neurological rehabilitation, equipment prescription, and complex community rehabilitation.
Although Danielle still loves connecting with clients, her greatest passion now lies in building a business where exceptional people can do exceptional work. She believes that when a team feels supported, connected, and empowered, clients receive the very best care.
This philosophy underpins the culture at Bridge to Best.
Matthew Goyne
Senior Occupational Therapist
With 15 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, Matthew is passionate about helping adults maximise their independence and participation in everyday life. He takes a collaborative, strengths-based approach, working alongside clients to identify meaningful goals and develop practical solutions that support them to live as independently as possible.
Matthew has extensive experience in assistive technology (AT) prescription and particularly enjoys seeing the positive impact the right equipment can have on a person’s daily life. Whether it’s a simple kitchen aid, a powered mobility solution, or a sophisticated environmental control system, he is committed to finding the right technology to enhance independence.
He also has a special interest in identifying innovative AT solutions that help people with low vision overcome everyday challenges.
Outside of Bridge to Best, Matthew enjoys spending time with his family at the beach and playing social basketball on Monday nights.
Miriam Stewart
Senior Occupational Therapist
Miriam is a practical problem solver who loves helping clients adapt their environment, use assistive technology, and develop strategies to achieve their goals. Her passion for wheelchairs and positioning ensures that each client receives the best fit of comfort and functionality. She does not go anywhere without a toolbox!
But what sets Miriam apart is her love for working with people. She is able to identify the unique challenges in each client’s situation, and the reward of seeing them achieve their goals is what motivates her every day. Miriam is registered with AHPRA, OT Australia, and ASSBI, ensuring that she stays up to date with the latest industry standards and practices.
When she’s not helping clients, Miriam enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, exploring the outdoors through hiking, kayaking, and riding. But on those lazy days, you’ll find her cozied up on the couch with a good book or binge-watching her favorite shows.
Mary-Anne Richardson
Senior Occupational Therapist
Meet Mary-Anne, who brings nearly 25 years of experience to the B2B Occupational Therapy team. Mary-Anne has worked within acute hospitals, rehabilitation wards, an assistive technology (AT) advisory service, the tertiary education sector, provided student supervision, and for the last 20 years, community-based practice. Making the transition to the community was the best decision she ever made! Mary-Anne loves working alongside people in their own homes – seeing what matters most to them, understanding the challenges they face, and finding practical ways to build a bridge back to their best. She considers it a huge privilege to be welcomed into someone’s private space and to be trusted to work together on the things that matter most to them.
Mary-Anne is passionate about problem-solving, AT prescription, home modifications and finding creative ways to change how tasks are done, while making the most of the home, equipment and resources people already have. There is nothing quite like sharing the joy when someone can return to an activity they love, do something more independently or safely, or when a family member or carer feels more confident and less overwhelmed.
Teaching OT students at university has also given Mary-Anne the opportunity to share her enthusiasm for AT prescription with the next generation of the OT profession. She is registered with AHPRA, a member of Occupational Therapy Australia (OTA) and the Australian Rehabilitation & Assistive Technology Association (ARATA). Mary-Anne is continually learning through podcasts, courses, and clinical guidelines to ensure she provide thoughtful, evidence-based OT support.
These days, Mary-Anne’s OT hours are intentionally modest because her biggest job is being Mum to three busy kids! Much of her week is spent driving to training, scoring from the sidelines, celebrating a four or a goal, and unpacking the latest life-lesson learned on the court, field, or pitch. While she’d happily spend endless hours solving client’s problems and prescribing AT, this season of life is also about making memories with her husband and kids – at the beach, in the mountains, on the ski slopes or camping. Mary-Anne is grateful to be able to bring the same curiosity, creativity, and joy for meaningful activity to family life and Bridge to Best.
